Jon is a therapist in training under the direction and supervision of Dr. Diane Pearce, an AAMFT Clinical Supervisor & GA Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. His desire is to help individuals, couples, and families experience freedom, growth, healing, and restoration in their relationships and in their own personal lives.
Jon's areas of specialization include marital issues, relational distress, premarital counseling, family transitions and communication, spiritual issues, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. Jon joined Legacy Strategy, Inc. after earning a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Richmont Graduate University. He is currently in pursuit of his license as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist as well as an Associate Professional Counselor.
Jon believes that all people experience both hurt and healing in relationships, and he works with clients to better understand how their past experiences may be shaping and influencing their current relationships and behaviors. Jon desires to help his clients experience healing and freedom within the therapeutic relationship, in hopes that this will translate to growth and healing in the client’s relationships outside of the counseling setting. He utilizes an interpersonal and systemic approach to counseling that is holistic, collaborative, emphatic, and strengths-based. Jon believes that it is important to uncover the root of problems that individuals, couples, and families face so they can experience lasting change, healing, and restoration.
Prior to entering the field of counseling, Jon worked as a small business owner in the leadership event industry. He provided event management, creative direction, and consulting services for clients ranging from intimate gatherings of 30 to large conferences of over 13,000. Jon also served as a pastoral apprentice for a local Atlanta congregation in 2011, and has extensive experience leading and coaching discipleship groups.
Jon lives in the city of Atlanta with his wife and his two young children. He enjoys traveling, hiking, exploring the outdoors, visiting museums, cooking, adventurous eating, learning about diverse cultures, and experiencing all of the wonderful activities and cultural events that the city has to offer with his family.
