Meet ChristaChrista Hammaker is a Counselor in Training and a student at Richmont University where she will be graduating with MA, as well as Certificates in Trauma Counseling and Couples, Marriage, and Family Counseling in 2023. Christa works with both adolescents and adults struggling with a broad variety of personal, emotional and relational issues.
Christa became interested in becoming a counselor after she had a positive experience with her own therapy in college. She was able to better understand and manage her own anxiety and shame with the help of a kind, caring, and knowledgeable therapist. Christa finds it an honor to be entrusted with the stories of others, and to sit with them as they journey through grief, excitement, pain, confusion, and growth. She believes there is meaning and power in being able to explore and tell one’s story. She finds these stories are interconnected with the stories and lives of others, and by the events throughout a person’s life. She also believes there is a grander Narrative through faith that provides hope and purpose. Christa personally finds meaning in life through the relationship she has with God, her family, and her friends. She enjoys the outdoors, traveling, reading, drinking tea and coffee, and playing ultimate frisbee. Christa is under the supervision of Dr. Jeff Pipe, PsyD, Licensed Psychologist (GA #PSY002399) |
