Laura is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. Laura works extensively with all types of trauma related disorders, dissociative disorders, self-harm, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and sports performance anxiety.
Laura is passionate about empowering females of all ages to understand and embrace their "unique" selves and not to let their past define them. Her goal is to create a trusting counseling environment where open, honest communication is explored, so that it can be transferred to personal relationships outside of the counseling setting.
Laura enjoys equipping adults, adolescents, and families with tools to utilize as they navigate through unexpected life transitions such as divorce, sudden loss, and more.
Laura believes it is imperative that we strive to leave a stronger Legacy, which in return will have an eternal impact on our family and the world in which we live.
Laura has advanced training through ISSTD for dissociative disorders, as well as EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy. EMDR is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches. To date EMDR therapy has helped millions of people of all ages relieve many types of psychological stress. For more information about EMDR, please visit: emdria.org or view this introduction video.
